The NRMCA’s Safety, Environment and Operations Committee awards producers for their outstanding contribution to protecting the environment and maintaining sound management practices in their operations. The awards program salutes companies that have not only met but surpassed governmental compliance measures and demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence through plant and staff investment. A panel of judges reviewed entries’ plant images and narratives covering site aesthetics, environmental compliance documentation, training, water, and air quality management, returned concrete plans, community relations, concrete delivery, and plant sustainability practices.

The Dresser plant exemplifies a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability through innovative water management and community involvement. Its automated ready-mixed truck wash system drastically reduces water usage, with all wash water captured, filtered, and reused through a closed-loop weir system to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact. The plant further demonstrates its commitment to sustainability through community initiatives, including the planting of locally sourced trees that enhance the property’s natural landscape and contribute to long-term environmental goals.
