What do you like about this industry?
Truth be told, I didn’t know anything about ready mix when I started 20 years ago. As a matter of fact, I really don’t remember seeing the big blue trucks on the road. I am no expert, but can honestly say I have learned so much about the industry and the impact it has on the state of MN and surrounding states as well. I love that I am witness to and a contributor to the many projects and significant builds like the US Bank Stadium, the Allianz Arena, and the St Croix River Bridge, just to name a few. Now, it seems, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t see a big blue truck!
What is your favorite memory of Cemstone?
Like so many of my peers, I loved the event that was held at the US Bank Stadium celebrating 90 years in business. I also think it’s amazing that Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed October 28 as Cemstone Products Company Day to recognize the 90th anniversary.
In addition to this, I am grateful for the many solid friendships I have been able to form during these past 20 years. I have had the privilege to work with some very amazing people!!
Share a story that stands out to you of your time with the company:
I am amazed at the growth and sophistication of this business. I remember back in the day when we used to print out all the invoices on 3 – part forms. We’d then tear off the perforated sides, separate the forms and mail the individual customer copies by hand. I love how we are trending towards paperless options and making our world a greener place.
