Cemstone Awarded The NRMCA Excellence In Safety Gold Awards For 37 Ready-mix Plants In 2019

Mendota Heights, Minn. – August 2020 – Cemstone, an Upper Midwest leader in ready-mix, engineered and decorative concrete has been chosen as a recipient for 37 ready-mix concrete facilities located in Minnesota, western Wisconsin and Iowa by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), Gold Level, Excellence in Safety Awards Program.

The NRMCA Excellence in Safety Awards Program aims to foster safe practices at ready-mixed concrete plants across the nation and recognize those plants who have great safety records. In November 2008, the NRMCA Safety Task Group updated the “Excellence in Safety Awards Program” to a 3-tier system (Gold, Silver and Bronze) and began basing the winning facilities’ merits on the latest OSHA / Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Incident Rate available for the ready-mixed concrete industry. The Gold level identifies facilities that have an incident rate equal to zero. Starting in 2009, only those plants with an incident rate below the national average received awards. The latest BLS data (released as of January 2020) shows the ready-mixed concrete industry with an incident rate of 3.9.

For 2019, Cemstone Concrete Materials, LLC received 19 Gold Awards, Cemstone Products Company received 12 Gold Awards, and Cemstone Ready Mix, Inc. received 6 Gold Awards.
