Cemstone is proud to announce we have received the Concrete Paving Award for the Roberts Street Reconstruction Project in Category 7: City New/Reconstruction from the Concrete Paving Association, Minnesota (CPAM). This recognition highlights Cemstone’s commitment to quality, collaboration, and technical excellence on complex municipal infrastructure projects. For the City of St. Paul’s Roberts Street Reconstruction, Cemstone quoted approximately 7,200 cubic yards of concrete, supporting multiple paving applications throughout the project. Working closely with engineering services, Cemstone successfully developed and submitted Joint Mix Formulations (JMFs) tailored to the project’s performance needs, including paving and high early paving.

A key factor in the project’s success was the strong partnership between Cemstone and Thomas & Sons, working together to meet demanding specifications, schedules, and quality expectations. The collaborative approach ensured efficient placement, consistent performance, and a durable finished roadway that will serve the City of St. Paul for years to come. This award is a testament to the expertise of the Cemstone team and its partners, as well as their shared dedication to delivering high-performing concrete solutions for critical public infrastructure.

The project scope included: 

• 3,430 cubic yards of standard paving concrete
• 857 cubic yards of high-early paving concrete
• 600 cubic yards for curb construction
• 2,135 cubic yards of Class A concrete for sidewalks
• 66 cubic yards of Black Ice concrete
