As a part of our sustainability commitment, Cemstone offers Environmental Product Declarations or EPD’s at select plants in Minnesota and Iowa. An EPD summarizes the environmental impact of a product across its life cycle, including the Global Warming Potential (GWP) or embodied carbon. More building owners are looking to lower the GWP of the concrete used on construction projects, and EPD’s are the best way to document the embodied carbon of the mixture.
