In the summer of 2023, Graco Inc. began constructing a project aimed at nearly doubling the size of its manufacturing operations in Anoka for its lubrication business. Graco, a Minnesota-based fluid-handling manufacturer, has experienced rapid growth in recent years, necessitating more space for its manufacturing and distribution services.
Cemstone involvement began in December of 2022 with an email from HGA, the structural engineer, inquiring, “What does it take to create an extended joint spacing slab for a client who expects their interior floors to perform up to their expectations?” The answer was Latitude, Cemstone’s Extended Joint Spacing System. After numerous discussions, meetings and existing job site visits with HGA, the contractor Mortenson, Graco, and our engineering partner Braun Intertec, a Latitude floor system with saw cut and construction joint spacings 40 feet apart was developed. Latitude utilizes the latest in admixture technologies along with synthetic macro fibers to create slabs with less joints, which results in maintenance reduction for the owner.
In recent years, Graco has expanded its business by adding numerous manufacturing facilities in the northwest metro area. This facility in Anoka, covering 185,000 square feet, used nearly 4,800 yards of Latitude for the interior slab.
